Please Help Us Care for Herbie

Herbie has had a rough start in life and came to Paws & Claws after being rescued by a Good Samaritan. Herbie is sweet, but his always-wagging tail couldn't hide the fact that he was injured. Unable to bear weight on his right back leg, his rescuer knew that something was seriously wrong with this sweet boy, and she turned to Paws& Claws for help. With funds made available through contributions to the PCHS Emergency fund, Herbie was examined by the vet and found to have a pelvic fracture. Whatever lay in Herbie's past that led to this injury isn't known, but we will make certain that his future will be brighter. Herbie will need an operation to help him live without pain and let him use his leg the way any animal should- to run free and enjoy life's simple pleasures.

Your contributions can help other animals that come into emergency situations like Herbie's have a chance at life, too.

We have hope for animals like Herbie, and with your help, we expect each of them to have the chance at a full and healthy life. All of their care will be paid for through our emergency funds, and we are counting on you, our supporters, to help Herbie and other cats and dogs with unexpected vet expenses.

You are the lifeline to our Emergency Fund

Herbie is the kind of animals that can be helped by our Emergency Care Fund. After helping care recent litters of kittens, and dogs like young Ody, our emergency funds are again nearly depleted. We need the help of our supporters to properly care for these animals and make sure we remain prepared to help the next animal that finds itself in need of emergency care.

Why There is a Need for an Emergency Care Fund
It is unfortunately not uncommon for cats and dogs in our care to need extensive (and expensive) medical treatment due to sickness or injury--whether intentional or unintentional. We are able to pay for Herbie's treatment and those of animals in similar need, through the resource of our Emergency Care Fund. This fund was established at Paws and Claws to help cats and dogs who have an urgent health issue, making it possible for us to afford the needed care to help save an animal's life and relieve pain and suffering.

So please, help us continue to care for those animals who need urgent or unexpected medical attention.
