Hi everyone, my name is Yukon! My owner could no longer care for me, and so I've been living at the shelter since October. The people here are great, and I've made some special friends, but I really want to find my forever home. I am a tall girl, with silky fur, beautiful brown eyes, and a calm, reserved manner. I love going for long walks, quietly watching squirrels scamper, burying my head in fresh snow--and good old dirt digging if I get the chance. Investigating new sights and smells is always fun. My newest hobby is skijoring, and the second time out I pretty much had the hang of it. I'm not much of a barker, but will yodelooo when a friend comes, because I can't wait for a walk and some TLC. You're welcome to brush me, but there's nothing better than ear rubs, back scratches, tummy rubs, and hugs. And, oh yes, telling me how good and pretty I am. When you get to know me and we're sharing quality time, I can be positively kittenish. Now please don't tell anyone I act like a cat, because the husky breed definitely does not like cats or other small animals. They look too much like things to catch. I've never spent time around children, so older ones who could walk me would be nice. And while I've lived with other dogs before, I'd have to meet any potential new siblings first to see if I want to be part of their pack. I am crate trained and have very regular toileting habits, so you don't have to worry while you're at work. Drop by and meet me sometime. I'd love to share your outdoor fitness program and those comfy times at home.
