We are the largest and newest shelter in the eight surrounding counties.
We do not limit the length of stay for the animals in our care.
We are funded by donations, fundraising events, and modest adoption fees.
We currently have nearly 900 dues paying members.
Our community fund helps pay for the spaying and neutering of companion animals for those who cannot afford it.
We give over 100 tours and presentations annually, educating the public [including over 400 children] about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to help control the pet population in Southern Minnesota.
Many families that participate in the Guardian Angel Program [sponsoring animals] each month.
We will take in an injured animal and get the emergency medical care that it requires.
Local veterinarians help Paws and Claws by providing over 145 free spay or neuters each year.
In a typical year, we facilitate adoptions and provide care for over 1300 dogs and cats.
